The above topic may be very casual for some people. With my experience of working with 1000+ electrical engineers on creating a safe workplace, 80% of the engineers said that everything is ok but we are always under pressure to complete the task. The pressure is the main reason for causing accidents. From my point of view, the primary training required for electrical maintenance engineers is not only technical knowledge but also how to manage their emotions during tough times. No electrical engineers want to meet accidents or create accidents, no electrical engineers wish to show their competency by completing the task quickly all done by external pressure. Electrical persons are the industrial doctors, those doctors should be given the right time to treat or troubleshoot the problems.

You can say that their job is to support the production of an uninterrupted production process. Yes, absolutely true. My point is not to stop the external pressure alone and also to train them to manage their emotion so that they can focus they’re with more attention and complete them safely.

The following are the suggested solutions
Confirm their readiness to do a task
Estimate the time for completion and add some more cushion timing
Motivate them to do their work in spite of your old support systems.
After the successful completion, appreciate them on their job
Support them with the latest safety gadgets
Involve them in safety discussion
Some jobs can’t be done without pressure, electrical maintenance is one such. Educating them to handle the pressure is the ultimate solution. It is possible by training them in self-emotional management
